Investment Manager
Alex Romero is an Investment Manager at Main Sequence, working at the intersection of frontier science and venture to build the next generation of deep tech companies.
She focuses on company creation and early-stage investing across quantum, AI, advanced physics, and industrial systems—partnering closely with founders to translate breakthrough research into globally scalable businesses.She works closely with portfolio companies as a Board Observer and Non-Executive Director, and contributes to shaping Australia’s quantum and advanced computing ecosystem through her involvement in advisory committees, accelerators, and founder-centric initiatives, supporting bold visions and sovereign capability.
Prior to Main Sequence, she was part of the investment team at Uniseed, working across university spinouts and research commercialisation in partnership with leading institutions including the Universities of Melbourne, Queensland, Sydney, UNSW, and CSIRO.Her background spans venture, science, and commercial and operational roles, bringing a cross-functional perspective to building deep tech companies. Alex began her career co-founding and leading a non-profit supporting refugees, coordinating aid efforts across multiple countries in Europe.
She holds honours degrees in applied science from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
